There is no feature to insert or edit mathematical expressions. Without that feature, I can't use this otherwise great software in an academic environment. Please add it fast.

I would like to second this request!

Support for MathJax would be tremendously useful.

I agree that there needs to be a feature to insert or edit mathematical equations. Right now, with the current version, 3.6.2, outline would crash every single time I try to copy and paste an equation.

Hello Anh,

We are going to add the ability to insert mathematical equations in the future, but there is no any release date at the moment. The app crashes because it doesn't support math symbols. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Thank you.

It would be great if you could implement equations and symbols using LaTeX, or a quick fix would be to do with a link to an HTML5 page and then users could copy the image in? It would be better if it could be editable though.
Take a look at one ore more of these sites:

Hi Steven,

Thanks for reaching out!

I've added your vote for math symbols support in Outline.

And in the meantime, where do you copy the symbols from?
I've tried your links using Chrome and the symbols get pasted.
I needed to edit them as there were some additional line spaces, but the symbols themselves were there.

Do you think you can try to paste something opening the pages in Chrome?

Have you considered just providing MathType support? Then that could take care of all the equation editing issues. Their site has a whole developer SDK section that may be useful. See:

Sure, we've though about it!

However when we first discussed this feature we didn't have enough user requests to really start analysing this feature.
I will show this link to the devs and we will think again about including it to our release plans.

I will write to you later with what the team will reply.
