Any plans for going cross-platform ?

Gene Nov 11, 2016 05:59AM PST

The vast majority of users aren't - and can't - stay with just one platform, but have to combine Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and Linux devices.

Evernote works on all platforms.

Onenote works on all except Linux.

Outline needs to keep up, yet I don't see the Windows or Android versions in the roadmap.

Linux Mint and some other distros are now fully usable by a layperson straight out of the box, and with W10 being still a problematic software I expect Linux to become more mainstream. Creating a Windows program that could be ran under Wine in Linux would cover both environments.

Hi Gene,

Thanks for reaching out!

Currently we don't have any specific plans on making special versions for other OS.
However it will be possible once we finish our major code renewal.

We understand it is difficult sometimes to use one platform, however both OneNote and Evernote have huge teams working on their projects.
Currently we just wouldn't be able to keep the track of so many versions.

So I can only offer this workaround on using OneNote for Windows and Android.

Since Microsoft plans to discontinue their OneNote as part of the Office product and will only offer the caponized free OneNote, I would be first to buy your Windows port!!

When I use to have a mac I used your product and loved it. Since I am mostly Windows now, I really would like to see a Windows version too! Keep up the good work! :)
