Hello,

I'm a medical student and I've been trying to get the perfect app for taking notes for a long time but there always seems to be something wrong or missing. I take notes on the ipad and look at my notes later on my computer. I mainly use lecture slides given by the teacher.

So far I really like your app, but there are 2-3 features that I think should be implemented on the mac version:
- Zoom in and out (especially) when working on a document (like on the ipad) in order to have more space to write down next to my slides. I like to be able to read my notes and look at the slide at the same time.
- Drawing feature
- Highlighting, underlining, striking text on pdfs
- The ability to select multiple pdf slides at once (when all in one single page) in order to set them apart from background.
- Insert keyboard shortcuts for arrows
- Insert shapes onto the file

I know the list is a bit long, but these for me would make this the best app ever!!!

ps: the ipad app crashes every time I try to erase some drawings with the eraser.

Thank you very much for your great work. I truly like you app!

Hi Simon,

Thanks for reaching out!

We're planning to implement the simple shapes and arrows feature for Mac Outline next year.
I cannot give you more precise release dates as there are some other time consuming features we will need to work on (Handwriting improvements on iPad and customisable fonts on Mac).
But you can check with me in the beginning of the year to get more information on our progress.

I've also added your vote for the zoom feature in Mac version and some details on lasso tool to set the settings for all objects selected.

What about the proper highlighting mode, I think we will need to implement the text recognition for PDFs first. Otherwise it will be the same drawing upon the PDF.
The same goes for strikethrough on PDFs. Plus - we haven't yet implemented the simple strikethrough style for typed text (we've investigated the feature and there was some difficulties with implementing it).

And did you receive the crash report window on your crashes in Outline for iPad?
here must be the name and email address fields.
I could check the crash system to find your crash. We could investigate it and fix.

I too am a medical student and very much so need a drawing tool as well as the ability to zoom in and out of my notes. Can you please provide us with an update on where y'all stand on these additions? Thank you.

I too am very keen on this! just a simple shape and arrow drawing is really useful for making mind-maps etc. Any news on when they might be available? The message back in November 2016 suggests there could be a function coming very soon?
