size of text too large when printing a section

Craig Hamilton Dec 01, 2016 02:23PM PST

When I print a section from my Mac, the font size on the paper is huge. I have the font size set to 11, which makes it readable on the screen, but when printed it is much too big. I've checked the support site, but don't find anything about it. Is there some way to reduce the font size on the printouts? (Other than making the screen font unreadably small.)

Thanks!
Craig

Hi Craig,

Thanks for reaching out!

And changing the font size won't help.
When exporting to PDF we fix the text width so it would fit the A4 format.
It works great when you have wide table for example.

However with narrow text outlines, PDF export, on the contrary, expands the original page.

Could you please write an email to me at support@outline.ws?
I will send you the screenshot with some workaround I've found.

Could you perhaps post that screenshot, or the steps to take, over here? Would be useful for other people as well.

Hi Matthijs,

Thanks for reaching out!

Well, the steps are pretty simple:
As soon as Outline changes the actual size of the page to fit to PDF, you can just type an additional symbol to the right to your text.
I suggested to type a dot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gp2r55jfrpmtki3/Screenshot_2016-12-06_14.15.31.png?dl=0
