Annoying capitalization bug

Sherrard Dec 29, 2016 04:36PM PST

There's an issue that is causing the second character in a line to be forced to lower caps even if the whole line is written in all caps or caps lock is on. This is particularly annoying when referring to acroynms such as "TV"

To reproduce:

1. Start a bulleted list.
2. Type "TV", it will be turned into "Tv"

Strangely, this doesn't continue past the second character.

Try:
1. Start a bulleted list.
2. Type "VGA," it will be turned into "VgA"

If you try to go back and change the second character into a capitalized character, nope, too bad. It won't let you.

It's just the second character in a string. Not any other character. If you type "VGAVGA" it will turn into "VgAVGA".

If you can fix this that would be AWESOME. Or should I say AwESOME!

Hi Sherrard,

Thanks for reaching out!

We know about this situation.
It's our "Fix two initial capitals" edit option that works quite not as it should be.
You can turn it off in Outline > Preferences > Edit.

And we will fix it in the next releases.

This is killing me !
Glad there is at least a workaround.

Still broken in 3.15.2 (workaround works)

Hi Justin,

We apologise for this situation!

By workaround, do you mean turning off Fix Capitals option in Preferences?
Nad we've planned the ticket to fix the behaviour of this option.
I will write to this thread when we finish.

This bug persists. Any word on when it will be fixed?

Hi!

Did you try to turn off the "Correct two initial capitals" in Outline > Preferences > Edit?
When you disable this option, Outline will stop correcting the capitals.

And we're still figuring out how we can change this feature to work properly.
