Web Clipper

Mohit Khanna Jan 31, 2017 09:26AM PST

Are there any improvements planned in terms of web clipping?
right now its very basic and also formatting issues.
You should look up to the quality and features of EVERNOTE web clipper, if not more.

Hi Mohit,

Thanks for reaching out!

Well, we have this feature in our list and we continue to count the votes.
But there are no certain plans about it.

And what do want to clip to your Outline pages?
If it's about easy screenshots, could you please try the cmd+ctrl+shift+4 to copy the screenshot to clipboard.
Then you need to place the cursor to where you want the screenshot to be and cmd+V.

I am currently evaluating moving from OneNote to Outline on my MacBooks, iPad and iPhone. This is one feature I use a LOT with OneNote since I'm a mystery author. I clip news articles, reference material and a lot more. For personal use, I clip a lot of recipes and travel articles.

Have a browser add-on to clip like OneNote and Evernote would be a HUGE advantage. I might be willing to pay the $40 for Outline but suspect I'd still have to use OneNote to collect things into a new notebook and then import them into Outline.

Why Outline over OneNote? Two reasons. The first is the ability to store locally (for me, it will be in my DropBox folder so I can share between my two MacBooks easily). The second is the ability to password protect some things.

Hi Donna,

Thanks for reaching out!

I'm adding your vote and description to web-clipper request in my list.

And do you think you can use our workarounds for importing things to Outline?
We have a lot of them.
For example you can send the selected text piece with "select the text > right-click > Send to Outline".
You can also paste the screen selections with SHIFT+CTRL+CMD+4 to copy the selection to clipboard > CMD+V to paste to Outline's page.

I agree Evernote's web clipper is a reason not to buy this app and pay them monthly for their service. Evernote's web clipper is awesome. Please add this functionality.
