Sharepoint authentication

Simon-Pierre Dubois Oct 16, 2014 02:51AM PDT

Hello,

I just bought Outline+ and tried to open a OneNote file on a sharepoint site.
I cannot pass the authentication step. What kind of authentication mechanism is supported in Outline ?

Regards

Hello Simon-Pierre,

could you please describe it in more details what you did to access SharePoint?

Thank you in advance!

Hello Tatyana,

I followed the instruction :
-enter the url of a Sharepoint site
-authenticate with username and password

I tried with and without domain name but it didn't work : I'm blocked at this step.

Our Sharepoint 2010 farm is configured for form-based authentication (no negociate protocol).

Hello,

No, I used the value firstname.lastname (SamAccountName value of my account in Active Directory).
Do Outline support web form authentication?

Hello Tatyana,

I also tried with the email address, in fact nothing works :
- firstname.lastname@company.com
- Domain\firstname.lastname
- firstname.lastname@Domain
- firstaname.lastname

For the authentication mechanisms, here's a Microsoft link which explains all the available modes. In our case we are using the second one : "Forms-based authentication".
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219571(v=office.15).aspx#userauth

Here are two iOS applications that work with our Sharepoint farm today : "Briefcase Pro" and "Moprise : Sharepoint Documents"

I hope this will help you to understand our issue.

Regards.

Hello Simon-Pierre,

Hope you are doing well!

Thank you very much for the info provided! Unfortunately we don`t support form-based authentication yet,
we only work with the NTLM-based authentication.

Would it be possible to change your settings for some time?
We are going to implement form-based authentication, but it`ll be included into one of our future updates.
Sorry for this temporary inconvenience!

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Have a nice day!

Dear Outline support team,

I'm re-opening this thread after one and half a year. It looks like that web form authentication is still not supported for Sharepoint.
Is this something you really intend to include in Outline, or not ?

Kind regards

Hi Simon-Pierre,

We apologize for the delay in adding web form authentication support. We had to postpone it last year, but the work on it has now been resumed.

We plan to add support for SharePoint web form authentication in the next month or two.

Thank you for your patience.

Daria
