Bullets - promote and demote

Ron Jun 06, 2013 08:14AM PDT

Using a bluetooth keyboard, with the TAB key I can indent a top level bullet to a sub bullet very easily. However, I can not figure out how to promote a sub bullet to a higher level. Tried SHIFT+TAB, Ctrl+TAB, Option+TAB, Option+SHIFT+TAB, etc. Nothing worked.

Is this possible to do?

Hi Ron,
Currently bullets are not fully supported. We are going to improve this in one of our next updates.
Sorry for this temporal inconvenience.

The way I handle this with my logitech iPad keyboard is to pull up the virtual keyboard (using my keyboard key) then hit the "tab left" virtual button then remove the virtual keyboard (again using my keyboard key). Its a few steps but it works and actually is quit quick once you get used to it. Hope this helps.

Bummer. I purchased this app because it could do the multi-level bullets--unlike the ipad version of OneNote. When do you plan to have this feature?

In the version 2.6 promotion and demotion works fine!
Keep in touch! This version is going to be released this autumn.

It says the issue was resolved, but not what the resolution actually is. Promote does not come up anywhere in the User Guide or in this help section. How do you promote?

Hey David,
thank you for reaching out!
Outline supports the standart way of promoting and demoting bullets. You shall be able to do that with usual Tab-shortcuts on your Mac. On your iPad there's an additional button to change levels of indentation on your toolbar.
