Switching between input modes

Andy Jun 17, 2016 05:09AM PDT

Hi - am using outline+ on an iPad pro (with a smart keyboard and apple pencil). How do I switch between input modes?

Sometimes when I start I get the text mode entry. Clicking on the screen brings up a text box and I can type. If I then click on the pen I can use pen input but how do I get back to text entry? If I click on the pen_abc icon then I get a pen to text mode. How do I bring up the text entry panel again - there seems to be no icon to do this. I must be missing something very simple...

Thank you for reaching out!

The default input mode is text, like you said. Clicking anywhere on a page enables this very mode. Other input modes (i.e. drawing and handwriting) are activated by clicking those icons. Both drawing and handwriting get disabled the same same, by clicking the icons once again.

There is a simple check to tell whether it is a text or drawing / handwriting mode activated: if an icon is highlighted in the right toolbar, then it is a non-text mode. If nothing is highlighted in the toolbar, then it is text.

Could you please check the above info and tell about the result here?

Perfect - thanks. I knew it had to be something simple. I had not realised that the icons were toggles. It works as you described...
