Shortcuts / Hotkeys

Uwe Aug 12, 2016 01:01AM PDT

Hi,

a very long time, I used OneNote for Windows. It has one advantage above the Mac version of OneNote: user defined shortcuts for "categories".

I always use it to categorize my notes. For example:
- Ctrl + 1: higlight current line red and set a checkbox in front of it.
- Ctrl + 2: higlight current line yellow and set a checkbox in front of it.
- Ctrl + 3: higlight current line green and set a checkbox in front of it.
- ..
- Ctrl + ...: put a star in front of the line
- Ctrl + ...: ...

This is much more faster than write a line, grab the mouse, click the "checkbox" icon, mark the line, use the background color for the mark.

Even OneNote for Mac doesn't have this feature (or I didn't found it - couldn't use OneNote for Mac, because it doesn't support local files).

Is it possible to provide such a feature for Outline?

Thanks and greetings,
Uwe

Uwe,

Thank you for the suggestion!

I will bring it to the discussion and we'll start analyzing the user votes for it.
Stay tuned!
I will get back to you when we'll have the decision on this feature implementation.

I want to put in a vote for the standard Mac key bindings (basically emacs bindings). If there is the ability to use user-defined bindings, that would work, since I could just make them match emacs. This would be a huge improvement in my view!

please! i use Dvorak keyboard and often change bindings to either use the muscle memory i'm used to or correct for the odd layout.

I vote for this feature. What Craig said. More short-cuts and user definable bindings to create our own short cuts
