Agree... notebook height too wide & pls allow collapse of 'Recents' as default, pages to right?

Hi,

I use OneNote exclusively for my LIFE as I have had a work computer but have just purchased my brand new Mac only to find the MAC version of OneNote is unusable.

Queue Outline...which is just fantastic.

The only things I would change is that the 'Recents' really doesn't need to be the first cab off the rank and it defaults as open, would prefer to be able to move this to the bottom, after all my notebooks or at the very min have it default as closed.

The notebooks are too wide, need to narrow the before and after space. I have 9 notebooks open all the time and have to scroll quite a long way to get to some of them.

Is it possible to be able to align pages on the right hand side of the screen?

But it is the best alternative to OneNote out there by far and wide. Nothing else comes close. Love the dark theme colour as well.

Love it!

Hi Tracy-lee,

Thanks for reaching out!

I'm glad to hear you enjoy your Outline.

What about your feature requests, at the moment I've added your vote for "Save collapsed view of Recents / sections / subpages" feature suggestion in my list.
We've discussed the "Recents" field repositioning some time ago - we wanted to include the "Favourites" field like we have on iOS to our Mac version too.
The initial idea was to implement the same buttons to switch between "Recents" / "Favourites" but we didn't come up with the final idea yet.
So I can suggest we move the "Recents" to some other place in the end.

And I've added a new suggestion on editable notebooks tree.
We will keep collecting the votes for this feature and if it gets a lot of votes we will start analysing it to include to some of our release plans.

And did I get it right that you want to align the text on a page?
Or is it about moving the page list to the right side?

Hi,

The question was can we move the entire pages area to the right of the pages...so from left to right it goes

notebooks list. content. Pages.
(the same format of one note where the content has the option to sit in between the notebooks list and the pages list.

At the moment Outline has Notebooks list, Pages list, then the white content area.

I want to be able to right align the list of pages from where they currently sit (next to the notebook list) and move it to the right hand side of the screen, which has the effect of moving the white page content into the middle.

I'm just used to seeing it that way in OneNote, but am slowly getting used to the format in Outline, which I am very happy using. I really love it.

I almost gave up on finding an alternative to OneNote. I even tried installing Crossover but it didn't run it very well and I couldn't trust it.

I use OneNote to control my life, thats 4 businesses worth of stuff and I can't live without it.

Without Outline, I would have had to install windows on my Mac but don't need to now (thank you!).

I love outline!

Thanks for considering all the items, this product is very well supported!

Kind regards,

Tracy-lee

Tracy-lee,

Thank you for explanation!

I got it now!
I don't have such feature request in my list yet and will start the new one.
It will be the same scenario with this suggestion too: we collect the user votes and if the number is considerable, we usually start analysing how much time we would need to implement something like that.

And I'm really glad you enjoy using Outline!
Feel free to contact me if there are any other questions on the app or any difficulties.
I'll do my best to help!
