Unable to open locally stored .one files on Mac Outline

James May 26, 2017 08:06AM PDT

Hi,

I have been unable to open .one files stored on my local drive. When I choose the option "Open from Local, Dropbox or Box" in Mac Outline and navigate to the location where these .one files are stored, they appear to have been greyed out, thus cannot be imported to Mac Outline. I thought these are the steps that the Instructions told us to follow, so am baffled. I would appreciate any help!

FYI, I'm using the trial version (planning to buy from app store after trying out the functions I need). Is this just a limitation of the trial version?

Hi James,

Thanks for reaching out!

And did you try to double-click on the sections in Finder?
If you want to open separate sections, you can just double-click on them, they'll get opened automatically in Outline > in "Inbox for OneNote" notebook.
You'll be able to move them to any other notebook in your Outline for Mac by drag&dropping.

And we have "+" > Open from Local option working with the complete notebooks only.
This way you can only open the folder with the section files and notebook TOC inside.

Please write to me if there are any difficulties with opening the sections with double-click.
I will help!
