Outline Notebooks cannot be used in OneOne

Mark Sullivan May 01, 2019 06:16PM PDT

Outline 3.21.5 (39.215.501)

I need to migrate my Business Outline Notebooks to OneNote (my personal ones are staying in Outline).

Unfortunately, none of my Outline Notebooks are useable in OneOne. I always get the error in OneNote "Something went wrong and we couldn't load the content" for each tab, regardless if i view it through the OneDrive OneNote browser based viewer or the native Onenote app.

The process I go through is as follows.

1) Go to the properties of the notebook and "Export to OneNote Format"
2) Use the OneNote importer (https://www.onenote.com/notebooks/exportimport?toImport=true&auth=1&fromAR=1) to import the Exported OneNote Format notebook
3) View the notebook through either the browser or OneNote native app and I get the same issue

I also tried creating a brand new notebook, with the format set as OneNote (not the Outline format), added one tab, imported into OneNote and tested again. Had the same issue.

There appears to be a compatibility issue with the files being generated by Outline and what OneNote can consume.

Are the any suggestions on how to get around this issue?

Cheers

MS

The notebooks I am testing with are local (not in a cloud folder)

Yes.

I also mentioned that I created a new one to test:

Can you please try to import it in OneNote using any cloud storage that Outline supports? It seems that the issue is caused by Importer and once you use some services that Outline can cope with, everything shall be fine.
