Right now we support only one way: email your notes as PDFs and open them with any app on your iPhone that is suitable for this.

Guys you will lose the race. Bring it on! Outline for iPhone is no big deal. Read only is enough but very important. Nobody wants to write big notes or edit them on the smaller device.
Wake up and do it! Now I use OneNoter. No Dropbox but for every device.

Yes, I just assumed there would be an iPhone version. Without it it's only half an app - think I'll switch to something else.

only thing stopping me from purchasing this for mac and iOS is the lack of iPhone support.

What's worse about this situation is that I just bout the iphone 6 plus because i thought it was the happy medium in size between my phone and my ipad, and wanting to consolidate those two items. I gave my mom my ipad for christmas, unfortunately that means I no longer have access to my Outline documents unless I buy the desktop version too.

I love the app, but I echo the sentiment for an iPhone version, a deal breaker for me.

Sticking with One Note for now.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts.

We are currently working on the iPhone version. We do realize that we've been promising it for a while now. Unfortunately, it had to be postponed because our developers have been very busy working on other features as well as general performance and stability improvements. The work on the iPhone version has now been resumed and we plan to release it later this year.

Thank you for your patience.

HI DariaG,

it has been said now for a while that the iPhone version will be released pretty soon.
As you can see from all the posts on this topic. There is really a demand for such a version.
Especially since the iPhone 6plus with his huge display.
A lot of people are not having an iPad with them all the time. Me included. Some don't even have one anymore.

So, a version of Outline for the iPhone is really essential for some of us. At least for me.
The other option I have is to use OneNote from Microsoft. Not the best choice for me.

When you are saying later this year. About which timeframe are we talking?

Greetings from Munich, Germany

Ralf,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic. I understand that the iPhone version is important to you.

However, I'm afraid I don't have an ETA yet. We are doing our best to release it in the next couple of months. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Daria,

it is now been said since almost 3 years that an iPhone version will be released.
If there is no project for the development has been started yet then it would be great to let everyone no.
If there has no project for the development of the iPhone version has been started than I don't think it will ever come!

If OneNote for Mac/iPad/iPhone would support iCloud and offline storage you would have no change to sell your applications.
The only real reason why I am still using Outline is that it supports iCloud and offline storage.

If you wouldn't support the Original Microsoft OneNote file format I wouldn't use Outline anymore.

Ralf,

We apologize that some of our earlier statements about the iPhone version were misleading.

As I mentioned earlier, the iPhone version has been in our plans for a long time, but the work on it had to be postponed (it has now been resumed!). We are a small team and we are doing the best we can to release most-requested new features AND maintain stability of all the features we already have.

Hi Daria,

that's a clear statement which everyone could accept. Even myself. ;-) Especially the one that you are a small team. I always prefer to support small companies than large ones.
For the time being I am staying with Microsoft OneNote on the iPhone and with Outline on my MacBook and iPad. And copy the notes I made on the iPhone manually to Outline.

Looking forward to the iPhone version.

It should be clear to everyone by now: There will never be a version of Outline for the iPhone available. And it has never been planned.

Hi Ralf,

We apologise for that the time we spent on finishing the iPhone version has made you think this way.

Nevertheless, please take a look at our Product Hunt for iPhone Outline page: https://www.producthunt.com/tech/outline-for-iphone
And we have also made some announcements in our Facebook page and Twitter account: official release of iPhone version is planned for this Autumn.
Which means it will get available till November 30th maximum.

Currently we're starting the last beta testing round after we get 100 upvotes on Product Hunt.
The invitation to participate in testing will be sent to all users upvoting the app.
After that we will launch the official release.

Thank you for your support. It is extremely important to us to know that our users understand our position and support us.

I'm waiting now for this since ages. And you promised this with several time frames for the release. And I'm not talking about a few months.
But nothing has happened.

So, now wonder that I doubt that it will ever come.

I'm evaluating the OSX version of this software and must say it's pretty nice.
I've tweeted this today as well before finding these forums.

An iPhone version is preventing me from purchasing the other apps.
I believe you are losing a lot of money by not having one.

It's nice to take notes and everything but has access to those notes at all time is KEY.
I'm not going to take my iPad everywhere, but yes iPad is greater for taking the notes.

But I do have my phone and would like to have access to my notes all the time as I use them for referencing material everywhere.

Again you losing money and in this time, I'm looking elsewhere at other options because of this.

Just my 2cents from a possible customer

Also, the price is kinda steep if your charging for every product. You may even consider going a subscription route and making the apps free.

And we're finishing our last beta testing round for Outline for iPhone.
We've just sent you the invitation to try it, the email must be from TestFlight.
Could you please try the version and write back to me what you think abut it.

The official release is planned for December 15th.

What about the prices, the iPhone version at first will be free to everyone already purchased Outline for iPad.
And we additionally have special 50% discount on Outline for Mac from our website after buying the iPad Outline.

Please write to me if there are any questions on the apps.
And sure, all kinds of suggestions are always welcomed!
