Sharing notebooks

dean Matthews Apr 11, 2013 08:09AM PDT

It is possible to share notebooks via email on the iPad?

The iPad I use at work is my personal device so the iTunes that I sync with is at home and my companies security policies do not allow company information to be stored on cloud services such as Box or Dropbox.

I saw on your sight that I can open a Onenote document that is received via eMail, which is great for getting an existing notebook onto the device, but now I need a way to get it off the device.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dean,
in the current version of Outline you can e-mail your pages converting them to PDF. See icon in the upper right corner of a page.
The Enterprise version of Outline will allow Sharepoint sync. It should be useful for companies that do not allow cloud services.

emailing as PDF doesn't work well. When I open the PDF on my work computer to be able to copy/paste into Onenote it loses all the formatting. It is possible to email in a Word format?

The enterprise version won't help me as the company won't be getting it. If the device is supplied by the company it is allowed to be on the network and the users can access the shared drives, so they won't need the Enterprise version.

Those of us using our own devices are not allowed on the corporate network so we need to find our own solutions that still work within the corporate security and privacy policies.

Normally this should not happen and formatting should be preserved.
What app do you use to view PDF files? It would be great if you could send me screenshots of the page as it looks in Outline and in PDF.
Emailing in a Word format is not supported yet.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
